Update on Caroline

In the past several weeks, Caroline has really taken off in terms of her physical development. First she started rolling over. She has been able to roll over since she was six weeks old, but only from her stomach to her back, and it was never intentional. Now she rolls over when I'm dressing her or changing her diaper, because she doesn't want to be still. She has also started sitting. She really likes sitting, but she can't figure out how to get into a sitting position yet. We are working on that.

We are really enjoying her little personality manifest itself. She is a very happy baby, though I wouldn't characterize her as laid-back or relaxed. She gets frustrated easily when she can't roll over.

This nifty pic is the lobby of the British Museum. It is the most interesting aspect of the museum, save the Rosetta stone. 

This is the tower of the Southwark Cathedral. This Cathedral is much older than St. Pauls. It was built in the 1100s. 

This is another beautiful, less well-known Cathedral called the Southwark Cathedral. It is south of the Thames (opposite of St. Pauls) 

This the only remaining wall of Winchester Palace, a residence of Henry VIII 

This unusual building is called the "Gherkin" by the locals.

Tower Bridge. It was built in the late 1890s and is a modern bridge made of steel. The stone work is all aesthetic.

Here is a Public telephone. Smaller versions of these make very popular souveniers. 

It's definitely similar to the Capitol Building. St. Pauls, as it currently stands (there was an earlier version that burned down) was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. He has designed most of London's tourist attractions (Buckingham, Westminster Abbey, Palaces of Westminster, Hampton Court Palace, and on) 

These are the gardens around St. Pauls Cathedral. They may actually be graveyards though. Some of the graveyards in London hold over 40,000 bodies. I'm not sure about St. Pauls though.

I'm back

It's been a month since I've posted anything. We were vacationing with Caroline's grandparents and great-grandmother and then we went to London for 2 + weeks. We have finally returned home and I think Caroline is happy about that. No more yucky fish and chips. We didn't actually eat "fish and chips" in London, but we did think about it. Anyway, I plan on posting pictures like a real blogger, since there are so many.
